The need to be understood drives all of us in our conversations. In all our little body movements and all that we signal on social media. We project our fond illusions in order to miraculously escape a direct confrontation with our truth. We seek to experience without experiencing and try to imbibe someone else’s articulation to be put on a silver platter. Our truth is then devoured by them than be tasted by us.

The bigger question would be how do we expect anyone to understand when we’re not ready to understand ourselves? When all we become is the shadow of our idealised selves, which we would rather desire them to see rather than to see it and recognise ourselves. The sacred words flow on the page without intent, in hopes that reading them again will help us know of all that we are made of. The stardust and the dust of the past or the forgotten memories that only our body remembers. We are all our collective consciousness as much as we represent our differences.
All our journey to understand only leads us to make profound mistakes. A pathway to melancholia when that illusion shatters and our attachment to our ‘truths’ rears its ugly head and decimates our daily functioning. The similar passion that drove us to seek is the same passion that naturally turned on us to implode. The only consolation then is to invariably start being comfortable with ourselves rather than pursuing that comfort or validation from others.

Seeking validation is where we all go wrong. The perceptions of others rank higher than our own understanding of ourselves. There is no set pattern or definition that can define an individual perfectly.
We are all ever-changing and that is a reality that must be understood. Try to find yourself in your likes, dislikes, and in the relations that you hold on to and also those that you wish to let go of.
Understand that you will never truly be the same person you were yesterday. So stop trying to figure out WHO AM I. Your thoughts and actions will speak for you.
Thanks for this thought provoking post, Rahul. 🙂
I appreciate your elaborate mention regarding MasticadoresIndia. It means a lot.

This. Not many are willing to learn who they are, let alone share that person with the world. A lifetime of conditioning to believe we are ONLY part of a whole.
