[455] Resurrection of Past Love

𝘔𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘪⁣⁣
I’ll be quiet in hellish silence⁣⁣
Whispers of chaos touch my skin⁣⁣
I’ll be waiting in September ⁣⁣
remembering my fading memories of you⁣⁣
Do you quiver in your fever dreams?⁣⁣
Do you still remember the fear of our end?⁣⁣
Or am I the only one ⁣⁣
living a dreamless dream⁣⁣
of forgetting I am awake⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I file away our images ⁣⁣
in the cavity of my brain⁣⁣
The membranes turn soggy⁣⁣
amidst our rotten veneer⁣⁣
Your voice peels off all ⁣⁣
the layers of my defence⁣⁣
My appearance is a cry for help⁣⁣
but you meet me in September and say⁣⁣
my mementoes helped you persevere⁣⁣
to not give in to a slow sleep of hell⁣⁣
and you ease me back to a hopeful life⁣⁣

  1. Nice to see your poems Rahul! I am starting A poetry Review again. Send me a poem. It should be about the human struggles in life.

    1. That’s such a kind thing for you to say. I think because my vision is always to try and write about the feelings we all feel but don’t pay that much attention to it. Maybe it’s working!

      1. It’s definitely working, and very well! And it’s not an easy thing to do, to have emotions bleed through the words you narrate. Thank you
